Chelsea hijack Arsenal's £45m bid to sign prolific player

Arsenal is in a rich vein of form in recent game weeks. The Gunners have rediscovered their lost glory coming strong from losing the first three August games to winning back to back since then. They have had spellbinding effects on the premier league table thanks to the significant summer signings they made last summer.

Seemingly, Arsenal Chief Edu and Arteta will not stop bringing fresh legs this January. They have prioritized signing a prolific forward to supplement their winning streak. Following the fallout between Arteta and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang in December due to disciplinary issues, the north London club is ready to listen to offers for the star.

Dusan Vlahovic has featured on their radar in recent weeks. However, the star’s agents have denied Arsenal access and possibilities to sign for the club according to reports two weeks ago. According to a CBS journalist and transfer expert via Football Talk, Arsenal has officially submitted a £45m cash plus Lucas Torreira deal totaling up to £58m. However, the report now claims Chelsea are front runners in the race following Lukaku’s media outburst over Chelsea exit plans.

Chief Edu has started exploring alternatives to Vlahovic and Luka Jovic is one of the stars they consider signing. According to Football London, Arsenal is hopeful that they will sign Jovic who will be reduced to third choice striker if Kylian Mbappe signs for Real Madrid. Other reports claim Arsenal is still interested in Marco Asensio but Madrid considers him untouchable.
