Chelsea receive greenlight to complete first summer signing of two world-class and utility strikers

Chelsea thought they have solved their striking problems when they bought Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan last summer for a club record fee of £98 million, but the situation with the striker has not been what was expected so far, as he has struggled for a regular goal scoring form.
It haven’t been a happy return for Romelu Lukaku this season, although, he has been on good form recently, scoring twice in Chelsea’s game against Wolves, and also score against Leeds United.
Thomas Tuchel’s pattern of play has been tagged as the major reason why the Belgium international has struggled to get to his best goal scoring form like he did when at Inter Milan.
Lukaku’s future at Chelsea beyond the end of this season is in great doubt, as his agent confirms that they would need to sit with the new Chelsea owner at the end of the season to discuss the future of the player.
Chelsea could allow Lukaku leave the club at the end of the season, and find a replacement for him in the summer transfer window.
In this article, we will be writing on the two strikers that could be possible replacement for Romelu Lukaku next season.
1. Robert Lewandoski
Robert Lewandoski is reported to be interested in leaving Bayern Munich this season, and he is favoring a move to Barcelona, but Chelsea are believed to have registered genuine interest in signing the striker this summer.
Thomas Tuchel is said to be a fan of the player, and have always like to have him in his team, Chelsea enquired about the services of the striker last summer before they signed Romelu Lukaku, but they could have another chance again this summer to convince the Polish international to join them this summer.
Although, Robert Lewandoski’s age could be a huge discouragement for the deal, as he is already well above the age of 30, but he remains one of the deadliest strikers in the world.
2. Darwin Nunez
Benfica striker Darwin Nunez has attracted a lot of interest from top European clubs this season, due to his sensational goal scoring form for the Portuguese club.
Chelsea are believed to be one of the club’s interested in signing the striker this summer, as Benfica are ready to cash in on the striker, if the right bid comes in for him.
Darwin Nunez is currently valued at £65–70 million by Benfica, which would not be a problem for Chelsea to pay.
