Chelsea reportedly reach personal terms with Raheem Sterling

Chelsea set to complete signing of Raheem Sterling as new owners hand Tuchel £200m to buy players

As the new ownership of Chelsea takes shape, new owner Todd Boehly will be looking to strengthen the squad with some top quality signings this summer. The Blues have been linked with a number of superstars, one of whom is Raheem Sterling.

The electric English winger, known for his pace and trickery, has transformed into one of the best wingers in the division under Pep Guardiola, and is the Man City manager’s longest serving attacker at the club. But his current contract expires in 2023, and the Etihad giants seem willing to let him go for a reasonable fee this summer. It is reported that the Premier League champions want a fee in the region of £50-60 million to sanction his departure.

Well, their resolve is surely about to be tested as Chelsea are reportedly set to submit a new proposal to Manchester City, as they seek to acquire the signature of Raheem Sterling. Renowned Journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that personal terms have already been discussed between the club and the player, and Boehly is set to take charge of negotiations for the 27-year old. In a tweet, Fabrizio reported:

“Chelsea will submit a new proposal for Raheem Sterling as they’re already working on it. Tuchel wants him and personal terms have been already discussed.

Negotiations with City were led by Marina Granovskaia – she now left the club, Boehly is preparing the new bid.”

Thomas Tuchel is said to want the player, who himself is apparently interested in a switch to another top club like Sterling. It is also reported that the Englishman would like to make a decision on his future before the start of preseason, so a lot could go down in the coming days and weeks.
