Mason Mount is growing frustrated over his contract situation which might see the young star out of Stamford Bridge to Anfield in the January transfer window.
It will be important to note that Chelsea are on the top of the Premier League table after an impressive 3-0 win away to Leicester City on Saturday, while Manchester United finally did the inevitable and sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, due to his poor form with the club.
Away from that, there are more reactions and analyses to come as we look ahead to those two big games, while fresh transfer rumours continue to pour out as the January window edges ever closer.
Mason Mount wants out
According to the Daily Star, Mason Mount is growing frustrated at his current contract situation.
The 22-year old German international England international currently earns £75,000-a-week and wants to be rewarded closer to the highest earners at the club. And it’s claimed that he is prepared to leave if Chelsea fail to match his ambitions.
The Daily star quoted a source close to Mount, who said: “He is torn because he loves the club and the fans, but thinks it’s time for him to leave to step up his career. And where better to do that than Liverpool?”
Carrick to take charge of United against Chelsea
Michael Carrick has already hinted at what he may want from his Manchester United midfield when they play Chelsea next weekend.
The former United midfielder was announced as the Red Devils’ caretaker manager on Sunday, after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked.
The on loan Chelsea star currently leads the race for impressing the Chelsea Fan base however, Gilmour has a head start having played under Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel already.
It’ll be interesting to see just which loanee will get that special recall next summer. Or should we just leave them alone?
