Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup Fixture, Times, Date, Venue And TV Channel Confirm

Chelsea FIFA Club World Cup Opponent Confirm, Date Times & Fixtures

Chelsea’s will kick-off their FIFA Club World Cup campaign next week and it has now been confirmed where fans can watch the action.

Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Campaign will be shown live on Channel 4 and E4 after the broadcaster won the rights to the tournament based in the United Arab Emirates.

The Blues qualified for the tournament after beating Manchester City in the Champions League final in May 2021, with Thomas Tuchel leading them to their second European crown.

However, Chelsea still don’t know who they will face in the opening game of the tournament, despite it scheduled to take place next week.

But despite the unsettled build up, Tuchel says he is relishing the opportunity to bring home more silverware to Stamford Bridge to add to the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup.

“I have to say once you are in it you are pretty excited,” he told the club’s official website.

“Once you are not in it, it is a competition that has not the highest focus on and highest value. It seems like this in Europe, or only for me.

“It is a big opportunity to win an extraordinary trophy which is far from daily business and that is why we will do anything to take the chance to make it happen.”

The tournament was originally set to be held in Japan at the end of 2021, but an outbreak of Covid-19 in the country led to its cancellation and the race to find a new host.

The UAE were eventually chosen and now, so has a British broadcaster for the tournament, with Channel 4 winning the rights as the place to watch the action unfold.

“This is one of the few major honours to have eluded Chelsea so it’d be great if they can make history live on Channel 4,” the broadcaster’s head of sport Pete Andrews said.

“We’re delighted to be bringing top-flight football live on free to air terrestrial television, let’s just hope the Blues can go all the way.”

The FIFA Club World Cup final will be shown live on Channel 4 from 4pm on Saturday, February 12 if Chelsea win their semi-final.

Their semi-final, against opponents yet to be decided, on Wednesday, 9th February will be shown live on E4 with coverage starting at 4pm.
