Done deal Chelsea first January signing arrives at Stamford Bridge, as fans delighted to welcome new star player

Chelsea are close to seal a deal for their first signing in the January transfer window, 2022 as star set for medical.
According to Sport, Chelsea have ‘gone all out’ to sign Sergino Dest from Barcelona this month and are ready to pay a fee to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
The Premier League giants have ‘approached’ Barcelona to ask what needs to be done to get the deal over the line.
Dest is Chelsea’s ‘number one target’ and they believe the Catalan club would be making a mistake with a player who is a great ‘market opportunity’.
Barcelona will assess any offers for Dest following Dani Alves’ return to the club.
The LaLiga giants will want to recoup the €20million they paid Ajax for Dest in the summer of 2020, but are ‘willing to talk’ numbers amid their financial strife.
Dest is also said to be on Bayern Munich’s radar, but Chelsea’s injury problems in the full-back positions have forced their hand.
The 21-year-old star has struggled for regular game time under new Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernández.
After becoming a regular starter under former Barcelona manager, Ronald Koeman, Dest has fallen down the pecking order since the arrival of Xavi.
Xavi prefers the likes of Sergi Roberto, Oscar Mingueza and Ronald Araujo at right-back ahead of Dest.
Dest is primarily a right-back, but his versatility to also play on the left-hand side is something that Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel will like.
