Don't play them in our next game, Chelsea fans underrated two key players against Brighton

Chelsea played out a disappointing draw in their Premier League clash against Brighton and Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Thomas Tuchel would not be really pleased with the performance of his players especially in the second half.

Romelu Lukaku gave Chelsea the lead in the 28th minute after finding the back of the net with a brilliant header.

Chelsea’s lead was snatched away in the closing stages of the second half as Danny Welbeck also scored a spectacular header in the 91st minute for Brighton.

Chelsea’s draw against Brighton means they are now one point ahead of Liverpool who has a game at hand.

It is easy to blame Thomas Tuchel for Chelsea’s draw against Brighton but they’re some players who played a huge part in the disappointing result.

Chelsea midfielder, Jorginho, had a really terrible performance against Brighton. The Italian midfielder made three errors and completed just 86% of his passes. Jorginho was clearly a defensive liability as he made the likes of Rudiger, Azpilicueta, and Chalobah vulnerable in the second half.

Another player whose performance was shambolic against Brighton is Marcos Alonso. Alonso was introduced in the first half after Reece James sustained a serious injury. However, his performance in the game explains exactly why Thomas Tuchel benched him in the first place.

After watching their poor performance against Brighton, Jorginho and Marcos Alonso should be dropped in Chelsea’s next game against Liverpool.

It’s a game Chelsea can’t afford to lose. I think it would be a great risk to start Jorginho and Marcos Alonso in a game of such importance.
