Expected Chelsea lineup against Aston Villa today

Expected Chelsea lineup against Aston Villa today

Chelsea welcome Aston Villa at the Stamford Bridge today after the League resume from International break, we shall look at how Chelsea will lineup against Aston Villa today.

Thomas Tuchel might make some changes in the blues lineup today because of the Champions League clash against Zenit on Tuesday night.

The Four Changes to Expect in the match against Aston Villa.

1. Trevor Chalobah

Trevor Chalobah has been sensational for Chelsea this season, the England player won Chelsea’s Goal of the Month for August following his stunning strike against Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old Chalobah will replace Thiago Silva who is unlikely to play due to FIFA’s five-match ban on Brazilian players playing in the Premier League.

2. Timo Werner

Another position to expect change is from the attacking position. Thomas Tuchel may be opted to start Timo Werner alongside Romelu Lukaku in a tactical 3-4-1-2 formation that will see two strikers leading Chelsea’s attack against Aston Villa.

Timo Werner’s performance for Germany in the world cup qualifiers matches may have caught the eyes of the manager and prefer him over Kai Harvertz to start the match against Aston Villa. Warner has had 4 goals and assists in his last 3 matches for his country and he’s tipped to start up front for Chelsea on Saturday.

3. Kovacic/ Saul Niguez

Following the injury of Chelsea midfield maestro Ngolo Kante, Thomas Tuchel will have no option but to start Mateo Kovacic along with Jorginho. Saul Niguez will hope to make his Chelsea debut in the match against Aston Villa this Saturday, but the Spaniard may likely be coming in as a second-half substitute for Kovacic or Jorginho.

4. Ben Chilwell

In an attempt to rest players ahead of the busy week for Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel may feature Ben Chilwell against Aston Villa. Although the German coach prefers Alonso over Chilwell which makes starting him unlikely but a second-half substitution could happen.
