Expected Chelsea lineup in revenge mission against Juventus in Champions League

Expected Chelsea lineup in revenge mission against Juventus in Champions League

Chelsea will be in action tonight in the UEFA Champions League as they host Juventus at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are currently one of Europe’s most difficult teams to beat this season.

However, here is how Chelsea could lineup without Mendy, Lukaku, and Jorginho to beat Juventus in the UCL.

Thomas Tuchel’s side lost a 1-0 to Juve in the first leg of the Champions League groupstage campaign, tonight might be a revenge to beat Juventus at the Stamford Bridge.

Juventus have been outstanding in the UCL this season, winning their last four games to remain atop their group with 12 points.

Below is how Chelsea could lineup to beat Juventus.

Thomas Tuchel should start Kepa instead of Mendy today. Kepa has performed wonderfully under Tuchel. Tuchel should start him in big games to prepare him ahead of January, when Mendy will leave for the AFCON.

A strong back three is expected today. Tuchel will likely start Antonio Rudiger, Andres Christensen and Trevoh Chalobah in the center back.

Ngolo Kante, Loftus-Cheek, Marcos Alonso, and Cesar Azpilicueta will form a very strong midfield against Juventus. Kante performed well against Leicester, so he will definitely start today.

Romelu Lukaku might not start today because he has just recovered from an injury.

Chelsea’s Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Hudson-Odoi, and Christian Pulisic are expected to start in the front row today.

Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Mendy; Rudiger, Christensen, Silva; James, Jorginho, Kante, Alonso; Hudson-Odoi, Mount; Havertz

Juventus possible starting lineup:
Szczesny; Danilo, Bonucci, De Ligt, Sandro; Cuadrado, McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot; Morata, Chiesa
