Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger was exceptional for Germany’s 9-0 win over Liechtenstein in the FIFA World Cup qualifier on Thursday night.

The former AS Roma football club defender was given another starting role by coach Hansi-Dieter Flick, following his outstanding performance for his team in their previous matches, and he was able to impress again.

Antonio Rüdiger started in the home team’s defence line alongside Jonas Hofmann, Thilo Kehrer and Christian Gunter and they were all fantastic in the game.

Manchester City star Ilkay Guendogan opened scoring for the home team via a penalty kick in the 11th minutes, Daniel Kaufmann doubled the lead with an own goal in the 20th minutes, and Leroy Sane made it 3-0 in the 22nd minutes before Marco Reus scored another goal in the 23rd minutes to end the first half 4-0.

Leroy Sane made it 5-0 in the 49th minutes, Thomas Muller scored the 6th goal of the game in the 76th minutes, Ridle Baku made it 7-0 in the 80th minutes and Thomas Muller scored another goal in the 86th minutes to make it 8-0, before Max Goppel netted an own goal in the 90th minutes to end the match 9-0.

Antonio Rüdiger was superb for Germany national team in the defence line throughout the entire duration of the game, and he was able to help goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to keep a clean sheet.

The 9-0 victory over Liechtenstein national has now taken Germany to the top spot of group J table with 24 points from 9 matches played.
