Finally reveals why Lukaku's goal was ruled offside by VAR

Chelsea’s insane game of football versus Liverpool in the League Cup final on Sunday was marred by some terrible Refereeing and VAR decisions in my opinion, and in many other peoples opinions too.

Not only should Naby Keita been sent off for a very dangerous high foot and studs into the groin of Trevoh Chalobah, there was also a very questionable offside decision giving against Romelu Lukaku to rule out a goal.

Lukaku’s goal chalked off because his Armpit was offside, Keita didn’t see red for this challenge lmao it’s laughable how VAR and the referee robbed Chelsea today

Chelsea can count themselves hugely unlucky and there were a few other questionable decisions throughout the game that they can feel hard done by with.

It was a shame because as I said, the game itself was a fantastic encounter between two sides with nothing between them playing with intensity and quality.

Former Chelsea player turned pundit Pat Nevin, says that he would have refused to analyse the game afterwards if they hadn’t shown and talked about the Lukaku offside goal, referring to the decision as being ‘not fully convinced VAR got it right.’

“I was working for Quest TV who were showing those evening highlights in the UK and I honestly felt sorry for the poor editor left to make the decisions about what to show and what to leave out,” Nevin wrote on the Chelsea website.

“Though to be honest I would probably have refused to do the after-match analysis if they didn’t show the Lukaku offside decision. I am still not fully convinced VAR got that one right.”
