How Chelsea will lineup against Brentford

Chelsea travel away to lock horns with Brentford on October 16th after the international break, as the Blues and the Bees will face each other.  Thomas Tuchel’s men are expected to bounce back this month, having seen their performances throughout the month of September.

Apparently, Chelsea are currently leading the Premier League table with 1 point ahead of Liverpool. So, the Blues would have to compose themselves and play with a high level of winning against Brentford. Because the Bees are tactically brilliant, as regards their displays in the Premier League so far.

Meanwhile, there is a particular way Chelsea could lineup next week Saturday without Thiago Silva, Edouard Mendy because of Covid-19 travel restrictions and N’Golo Kante due to illness. Frankly, both Senegal and Brazil are not in Europe, so the two players won’t be able to travel back to Stamford Bridge next week.

Potentially, the Thomas Tuchel’s men should be able to handle Brentford pressure without Silva, Kante and Mendy. Since Chelsea are planning to keep leading the league table, they will definitely face the Bees with a high level of winning mentality, because Liverpool could successfully leapfrog them if they lose next Saturday

Having said that, the formation below is able to bag 3 points in their first EPL game, after the international break. Obviously, they may miss Thiago Silva’s experience at the back and N’Golo Kante’s strength in the midfield. Nevertheless, this lineup has the ability to subdue and dumbfound the Bees.

Expected Chelsea lineup

Apparently, Kepa Arrizabalaga will replace Edouard Mendy next Saturday, because the Senegalese is currently on international duty and he won’t be able to travel back due to Covid-19 restrictions on travel. Regardless, the Spanish goalkeeper has the ability and capability to save the day for Chelsea against Brentford, and they may continue to lead the Premier League table.

As regards the formation of 3-4-3, the likes of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rüdiger are expected to travel back to Stamford Bridge before Saturday, since they are within Europe. Having said that, they both dazzle as centre-backs alongside Trevoh Chalobah. Without a doubt, these three defenders are able to silence the Bees, because the opposing team have some dangerous players in front like Ivan Toney. The Englishman was outstanding against Southampton before the ongoing international break, so he’s going to protect the box by working hand-in-hand with the Danish and German footballers.

Brentford are kind of sloppy in the midfield, as regards their performance against Arsenal. With that being said, there’s no need for Thomas Tuchel to use the three-man midfield pattern, so as to have enough attackers up front. As a result of that, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Jorginho will dazzle together, as the Italian will play defensively while the Englishman plays as a deep-lying midfielder. Loftus-Cheek was amazing against Juventus, Manchester City and Southampton. So, he can single-handedly control the midfield and create space for his teammates.

As regards the Thomas Tuchel’s men performance against the Saints, before the international break. The German manager could play Timo Werner in the right-wing position, Mason Mount on the left-wing and Romelu Lukaku as a striker. Of course, the German forward dazzled impressively last week, as he created many chances for the Belgian. Having said that, Mount will drive into the Brentford box from the left, while Werner maneuvers from the right, and Lukaku positions himself to score. Apparently, the Belgian star is expected to get his scoring form back against the Bees, and the two wingers can actually help him in line with this particular lineup.
