Morocco made history this evening as they become the second African nation after Senegal to qualify for the knockout stages as a result of their 2-1 win over Canada.
Croatia on the other hand qualified following their goalless draw against Belgium.
Morocco started the game brilliantly as they kept a high defensive line and it paid off as Hakim Ziyech scored the opener following Milan Borjan’s error. Later Youssef En-Nesyri doubled the lead with a neat finish from Achraf Hakimi’s assist. An own goal from Nayef Aguerd made the score 2-1 in Morocco’s favor in the end.
Elsewhere, Belgium failed to beat Croatia as both teams played a goalless draw. The latter are through to the knockout stages.

It was a disappointment for Belgium in the end as they crashed out early from the tournament unlike the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
