Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira says they will ‘play to win’ when they face Chelsea in the final of FIFA Club World Cup on Saturday.
The Brazilian side booked a place in the final after beating Africa representatives Al Ahly 2-0 on Tuesday evening in Abou Dhabi.
Chelsea, on the other hand, advanced courtesy of a 1-0 win over Al Hilal on Wednesday evening at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium.
Ferreira expressed his joy after making the final and is certain they can go all the way and win the title.
“We’re like a family here, we lose together and we win together. I’d like to congratulate everyone,” Ferreira said after their win.
“Our performance was balanced, we respected our opponents and enjoyed the game.
“We showed 30% of our real power and our team spirit is what mattered the most on the pitch.
“We played against a very smart team, but they lost tonight.
“I am very happy we could reach the final. It will be a very difficult game but we will play to win.”
Chelsea will be hoping to win their first Club World Cup on the second asking, having lost in the final to Corinthians in 2012.
