Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount was in the starting line up for the FIFA Club World Cup final on Saturday.
The 23-year-old played a part as Chelsea defeated Palmeiras 2-1 in the final of the tournament.
However, Mount had been forced out of the contest 30 minutes into the match, appearing to have suffered an ankle injury.
Mount looked in pain and was replaced by Christian Pulisic in the first half. He also looked in serious discomfort during the post-match celebrations, and avoided putting any weight on his right leg, as he hopped around and leaned on another injured Chelsea man, Ben Chilwell.
In a video posted to social media by Chilwell, Mount’s right ankle was heavily strapped and appeared to have an ice pack on it as well.
It’s yet to be seen how long Mount will be out, but Chelsea fan Roger White doesn’t think the England international will be missed much.
