What Raheem Sterling did in Chelsea dressing room after Charlotte game

Welcome to Chelsea: Chelsea complete £45m signing of Raheem Sterling medical tests and announcement imminent

Raheem Sterling has seemingly been settling in to his new team well, with him proving a popular figure in Chelsea’s latest episode of ‘Tour Diaries’ on their website.

The England international became the club’s first marquee signing of the summer, joining up late to the squad’s pre-season tour of the United States.

He made his first appearance in Chelsea colours this week, as he showed glimpses of his quality in a second half cameo against Charlotte.

While he will have given his teammates encouragement on the pitch, he has proven a popular figure off it, particularly when the table tennis table came out.

He was captured in the tour vlog warning new manager Thomas Tuchel of his ability, before immediately showing his quality in defeating Trevoh Chalobah, who himself had proven a strong competitor with the paddle.

It was clear the manager was keen to put the 27-year-old in his place, however the winger’s hot streak continued as he beat the German too, with his Chelsea teammates cheering in approval.

This left the boss crying: “Not against Raheem!”, with him clearly fired up by the England international’s fighting talk.

While it will come as no surprise to Chelsea fans that Sterling has proven a popular figure already at the club, they will now be inspired to believe that he has the capabilities to become the leader they desire in attack,

Some pundits have already called for the Blues to make him club captain, with current skipper Cesar Azpilicueta still expected by many to have played his last competitive game for the club.

While he will be competing with the likes of Mason Mount and Jorginho for that armband, becoming a player the squad look up to, but most importantly respects, immediately will certainly help his case.

Now, supporters will be hoping to see more of the former Manchester City man in the weekend’s friendly against Arsenal.
