Although Vinicius Junior has been in a slump recently, no one at Real Madrid doubts his talents, Marca’s Jose Felix Diaz reports. In particular, Carlo Ancelotti has been the most supportive of the youngster since his return to Santiago Bernabeu.
Despite this, however, the club and the coaching staff think that Vini has to improve in two areas.
First, they want the 22-year-old to improve his finishing. The winger missed two big scoring opportunities in the matches against Villarreal and Valencia, illustrating that he need to be more decisive in front of the goal.
Second, they want Vini to stop his “wars on the pitch”. The Brazilian needs to be more discipline and focus on his games instead of arguing with the referees and the opponents.
Vinicius has started in all but 3 games for Real Madrid this season and some rest would benefit him. However, with no viable substitute, it is likely that Junior will continue playing despite his poor form.
